California DMV offices: REAL ID centers
Every California field office issues REAL ID — the federally compliant license or ID you need to board domestic flights and enter federal facilities. The catch is documents: bring the right proof of identity, Social Security, and California residency, and the visit is quick.

About REAL ID service
REAL ID is a federally compliant driver license or ID card. All California field offices process REAL ID applications, so "which office" matters less than "which documents." You will need one proof of identity, one proof of your Social Security number, and two proofs of California residency.
Photocopies, screenshots, and digital images are NOT accepted for REAL ID. You must present original or certified documents in person.
