How to make an appointment here
Book through the official California DMV portal and choose Lincoln Park; some transactions can also use the Virtual Field Office. See how to make a California DMV appointment for the steps.
Routine appointments are usually available within a week, and walk-in waits here are often shorter than at Hope Street. Drive tests still require an advance appointment, typically 2–3 weeks out.
Wait times & best time to visit
Lincoln Park typically runs shorter than the LA average — often 20–35 minutes for appointment holders. Compare nearby offices on our California DMV wait times page.
- Arrive 10–15 minutes before your appointment — earlier arrivals aren't called sooner.
- Avoid Mondays and month-end, which are busy everywhere.
- Quietest windows are early Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
- Wednesday opens at 9 AM, so the morning queue starts later that day.
What to bring
Documents depend on the transaction. The fastest path is our interactive document checklist generator, or browse topic-specific guides:
- REAL ID document checklist — first-time REAL ID applicants.
- First-time driver's license documents.
- New California resident documents.
- Documents for non-citizens and AB 60 applicants.
Payment: this office accepts cash, check, debit, and credit card (a small surcharge applies to credit).
Languages & accessibility
Staff routinely serve English and Spanish speakers. For other languages, request an interpreter when booking your appointment — at least 5 business days ahead.
The office is ADA-compliant, with a wheelchair-accessible entrance, restrooms, and designated parking. Service animals are welcome.
Parking & public transit
Parking. A free on-site lot usually has space outside month-end peaks. Street parking is available along Mission Road and side streets.
Transit. The Metro L Line's Lincoln/Cypress station is about a 10-minute walk, with Metro bus connections on Mission Road and North Broadway.
Rideshare. Have your driver use the Mission Road entrance; the lot is small but turnover is quick on weekday mornings.
